Adrian Lam's reaction to Wigan Warriors' 19-6 victory at Leeds Rhinos
Adrian Lam hailed the defensive effort which has underpinned Wigan's perfect start to the year.
The Warriors have leaked just two tries in their last three matches.
And though Leeds' touchdown early in the second-half cut Wigan's lead to 8-6, Lam always felt confident they would come out on top in this spirited Headingley clash.
"I thought it was a really physical game, I'm proud of the boys," he said.
"I thought we defended really well, I thought two tries tonight would be enough because our defence has been outstanding.
"I'm really proud of that part, and that's why I was quite confident even (at 8-6)."
Lam saluted Zak Hardaker - again at full-back in the absence of Bevan French - as well as two-try Liam Farrell and their clutch of young forwards, such as Morgan Smithies, Joe Shorrocks and Ethan Havard.
But he added: "We know we have some improvement there, we want to improve our discipline.
"We've got some big games coming up and this was a good opportunity to get some steel into us."
