Adrian Lam's reaction to Wigan Warriors' 18-14 victory against Warrington Wolves

Wigan bounced back from last week's Challenge Cup loss to Leeds - and the loss and disruption of three players to coronavirus - to put in a spirited display against the Wolves.

Liam Farrell crossed for the match-winning try in the 76th minute to move Wigan up to second in the table.

"I lost my voice there by the end," said Lam, who was frequently animated during the full-bloodied encounter.

"I just wanted them to have some success together because last weekend, that wasn't us - we were embarrassed.

"The players just wanted to get it right. Tonight we weren't pretty but we hung in there.

"Warrington had a lot of ball in the first half and probably could have scored more points, but I thought if we could get into half-time okay we could rescue it.

"It was a big game for us, not so much the ladder but more so to bounce back from last week, which was unacceptable."

Brad Singleton made his debut off the bench, following his switch from Toronto, and caught the eye in a strong team display.

He certainly gives Lam another prop option ahead of next Thursday's clash with Catalans.

"Brad's just banged the drum and led the (winning) song, I was pleased for him, he's not played for a long time," said Lam.

"We're not getting ahead of ourselves, it doesn't get any easier for us.

"There's still a bit of improvement there but I was happy with the effort and character."
