Business as usual for Wane
Warriors are continuing to investigate claims their players were involved in a {http://www.wigantoday.net/news/local/police-probe-rugby-players-brawl-1-7940089 |town centre bust-up|} – which is also being probed by police.
The episode is threatening to over-shadow the build-up to their trip to Salford this week. But Wane showed no signs it had made an impact.

Hide AdAsked whether this was a complication he could do without, he replied: “It’s just another working day.
“We had a fantastic day training – three or four couldn’t train – but we’re just getting ready for team-run on Thursday.”
Before Wane took his regular pre-match press conference, the club’s marketing director Simon Collinson asked journalists not to ask questions about last Friday’s incident.
He said a full statement will be made once their own investigation was concluded. “You’ll all be aware of rumours flying around at the weekend. There is an internal investigation going on at the minute,” he said.

Hide Ad“Because of that, we ask that you don’t ask Shaun any questions about any incident that might compromise or prejudice our investigations.
“As soon as those investigations are completed we will then issue a full statement.”
Chairman Ian Lenagan and rugby director Kris Radlinski are both thought to be out the country.
Warriors have not put a time-scale on when they expect to complete their own investigation, and it remains to be seen if any of the players involved are stood down for this week’s game.

Hide AdWane must name his 19-man squad today though he has the option to make late changes on medical grounds.
He reported no fresh injury concerns but did say they had “a few knocks and bruises”, and he would only decide his team after the final training session on Thursday.
Whether Wigan conclude their investigation by then remains to be seen.
Anthony Gelling is the only injured player with a chance of returning.
