The Kiwi forward – an off-season recruit from Widnes – has missed the last six games with a knee problem.

But he is back fit and firing as Shaun Wane’s injury woes begin to ease.

The coach hopes Liam Farrell and Ben Flower will be added to the squad which beat Hull KR 30-16 last night (Monday) – their second win over the Easter weekend.

And the return of Isa will excite fans, particularly as he was in good form before being injured against Brisbane.

The ex-Melbourne player figured three times and impressed with his workrate and aggression.

The 27-year-old has vowed to bring “energy” to the team, as many players face their third game in eight days.

Isa said today: “I’ve been in training for a couple of weeks and I’m looking forward to getting back out there now.

“It’s important for whoever comes in to try and give the energy to the boys, because I haven’t played my part over the Easter weekend.

“It’s a quick turnaround for the boys who have played.

“They did really well to dig in and get the two wins.

“I wanted to play my part, I wish I was involved in the derby game, but injuries are part of it and you’ve just got to deal with it.”

Warrington’s defeat at Hull FC yesterday saw Wigan move level with them at the top of the Super League ladder.

Wane says stand-off George Williams (inset) is unlikely to figure as he nurses a back injury which is proving difficult to put a recovery time-frame on.

John Bateman needed another concussion test today.

The coach said: “This game will be more about attrition. They’re in the same boat as us, they’ve got tired bodies, they won’t have much preparation.

“But Warrington are attacking really well this year - they’ve got some real quality in their squad – and it’s similar to the St Helens game, a really tough test of our character.”
