The French full-back has sat out the last two matches - comeback wins at Catalans and Leeds - due to form.

Shaun Wane challenged him to grasp his chance when it arrived.

And Escare responded on Saturday, scoring a try during an eye-catching performance for the reserves in a 34-6 win against their Wakefield counterparts.

Wane was also impressed with Australian prop Gabriel Hamlin, who was dropped for the trip to Headingley.

And - with Welsh prop Ben Flower available again following concussion protocols - the Warriors boss admits he has some tough decisions to make before Friday’s visit of Castleford.

Wane said: “Morgan and Gabe were fantastic. They played like first-teamers - Morgan was busy, he was energetic, and Gabe did everything I asked of him.

“With Ben back, too, and no injuries from Friday I’ve got some tough decisions to make - and that’s what I want.

“I’ve not picked my side yet and I’ll select the team which I hope will beat Castleford.”

As well as Wigan’s reserves’ victory, their Under-19s won their game in a double-header at Robin Park Arena, beating their Warrington counterparts 28-6.
