The Frenchman is on the comeback trail from a shoulder injury suffered while finishing 2019 at Wakefield.

He has played in one reserve game for the Warriors and his first-team chances would appear limited, with Bevan French thriving at full-back and Zak Hardaker also in the squad.

Wigan last week allowed Joe Greenwood (Leeds), Ben Kilner and Jack Wells (Toronto) to leave on loan, while Romain Navarrete (Wakefield), Craig Mullen and Josh Woods (Leigh) previously departed for spells elsewhere.

Asked whether Escare may be heading for a loan exit, Lam replied: "Maybe.

"He's just come back from a shoulder injury a week ago so I'm sure someone would come in for him.

"It'd probably be good for him to play Super League somewhere, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it."

Escare joined Wigan from Catalans Dragons and was in the side which won the World Club Challenge in 2017 and the following year's Grand Final.

Wigan's reserves had no game last weekend and return to action this Saturday at Leeds.
