The full-back reached an agreement with Warriors to leave now - months before his contract expires - so he can secure his future elsewhere.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Escare thanked the fans, executive director Kris Radlinski, his team-mates and the coaching staff - in particular assistant coach Matty Peet.

He wrote: "The time has come for me to move onto a new opportunity and I would like to thank all the Wigan fans for the last three and a half years, you have been amazing with me and my family and I will never forget the welcome you gave me when I came to the club.

"Thank you so much, you are one of the best fans in Super League. The players I have played with at Wigan have been amazing, with unbelievable memories from winning the World Club Challenge in 2017 and Grand Final in 2018 to being the first French players, with Romain (Navarrete), to achieve this.

"Finally I would like to thank Matty Peet and the coaching staff who have been first class with me, Kris Radlinski who has supported me and helped me through my journey at the club. And last, Shaun Wane, although no longer at Wigan, I will be forever grateful to him for giving me the belief and opportunity to achieve things. Thank you Wigan and good luck for the future."
