Parramatta join chase for Wigan Warriors ace Ryan Sutton
Another NRL club has joined the hunt for Ryan Sutton.
Reports in Australia say Parramatta are circling the Wigan prop, who is out of contract at the end of this season.
Canberra have previously been linked with him and Newcastle Knights coach Nathan Brown has already revealed his interest.
“It is fair to say he is someone who is on our radar,” ex-St Helens coach Brown said last month.
“The mail we are getting is he is keen to come to the NRL next season and there is some interest there for him.
“He is certainly a good young player and we have made contact with his management to express an interest.”
He was also pictured meeting Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan, along with John Bateman, during Wigan’s mini-tour of New South Wales last month.
Sutton has chalked up nearly 100 games for his hometown club, a fair achievement considering he is 22.
He won the 2016 Grand Final and the following year’s World Club Challenge.
Sutton isn’t the only Wigan player catching the attention of NRL clubs.
Centre Oliver Gildart is out of contract later this year and is keeping his options open, while England international Bateman has admitted he may be tempted by a move.
He is under contract with the Warriors for next season, but has a clause which allows him to move to the NRL at the end of this year if a predetermined, but undisclosed, transfer fee is paid.
