The Frenchman and Liam Forsyth are set to make their Wigan debuts on Thursday night.

Academy-product Jack Wells is also coming back into the fold – he played three times last year – and young winger Liam Marshall will hang onto his spot to face Warrington.

There will be plenty of interest in Navarrete, a France international who impressed at Catalans last year.
And while Wane has been happy with his efforts so far, he describes the 22-year-old as “a project”.

“He’s a lot to learn, he needs to understand the detail our middles go into,” said Wane. “But it took Taulima (Tautai) and Tony Clubb a year to get how we do things.

“He runs hard, he hits hard – it’s just the detail we need to nail.

“His chance has probably come about a bit earlier than we expected, but I’m looking forward to seeing how he goes.”

Wane has been forced to draft in three players after Joe Burgess, Lewis Tierney and Ryan Sutton suffered injuries in Friday’s 20-0 win against Leigh.

He will name his 19-man squad today.
