Big-name recruit Frank Pritchard tips the scales at 120kg – nearly 19st – making him one of the heaviest players in Super League.

And having studied their three games so far, Wane says the Black and Whites have the forwards – including Sika Manu and fit-again Gareth Ellis – to trample over opponents this year.

But he has no doubts his players have the aggression to quell the threat at the KC Stadium tonight as they seek their fourth win this season.Wane said: “Hull have gone really, really big this year.

“But one thing I do have is players with a lot of heart and they’ll not lie down.

“We’ll be aggressive – and we need to be. They’re running over teams at the moment.

“We need to keep hold of the ball as long as possible. Turning ball over will take the juice out of our players, especially against such a big team.”

Wane has never lost in five visits to the KC Stadium, which includes one game as caretaker boss when Michael Maguire was absent in 2010.

But with FC recruiting extensively he thinks the scales are evenly balanced – especially when factoring in Wigan’s injury problems.

Micky McIlorum, Sam and Joel Tomkins are sidelined but winger Josh Charnley returns. Kick-of is 8pm.
