Warrington Wolves boss Steve Price gives his verdict on Sam Tomkins 'trip'
Tomkins was spoken to in the first half by referee Robert Hicks for an apparent trip, and again for leading with the knees during Saturday’s Grand Final.
“That would’ve been a yellow card in normal game,” said Price.
“Two tough calls there but we couldn’t get a win there.
“Sometimes you don’t get those calls.”

Hide AdBut Price paid tribute to the Wigan players in a final which could’ve gone either way until a decisive score from Dom Manfredi with three minutes to go.
“Defensively I thought they were outstanding. There wasn’t much between both sides,” he said.
“At times our decision making could’ve been a little bit better. I’m not finger -pointing at any individual - it’s unfortunate to come that close and not get the result.
“It could’ve gone either way until the 77th minute.
“It was a hard, ferocious game.”
And despite this being Warrington’s second final heartache this season, following August’s Challenge Cup Final defeat to Catalans Dragons, the coach praised his players.
“I'm super proud of them,” he said. “We’ve come a long way since we first came together in November.”
