They will meet the winners of Friday's semi-final between St Helens and Catalans next week, in a behind-closed-doors title-decider at Hull's KCOM Stadium.

This will be the first final under the leadership of Adrian Lam, who guided his side to the league leaders shield two weeks ago.

And it kept alive their hopes of sending captain Sean O'Loughlin into retirement with a fifth Super League title.

They will head into the decider buoyed by the manner of this semi-final triumph.

Two tries before half-time - from Joe Burgess and Harry Smith - helped put them into a comfortable 13-2 lead at half-time.

Zak Hardaker swept over soon after to extend their lead and their character was typified by a desperate, late try-saving tackle by Bevan French to keep their opponents limited to a solitary early penalty.

Jake Bibby and French added late tries to flatter the scoreline and add to the feelgood factor - and there was a lot for Warriors fans to enjoy.

With Jackson Hastings, Smith and Thomas Leuluai all combining well to direct the side, Wigan looked confident and composed, and played with a high-tempo and aggression.

On the ground, and against the same opposition, where O'Loughlin made his first appearance more than 18 years ago, he returned to the side after a spell on the sidelines.

He played in place of George Burgess while Hastings took the dummy-half role in place of the absent Sam Powell, with Smith slotting in at halfback.

Playing their first game at the DW since early March, England coach Shaun Wane one of the few people in the directors' box of an otherwise deserted stadium.

Hull got on the front foot when a penalty allowed Marc Sneyd to boot the visitors 2-0 ahead in the 12th minute.

If that served as a warning shot, Wigan responded swiftly as Burgess crossed but was held up after a nice cut-out pass from French, who earned a subsequent repeat set.

Jake Connor, star of the show of their victory at Warrington the previous week, was pulling the strings for FC early on and they had a chance to extend their lead after a French spill, only for a try to be chalked off by the video referee.

The visitors appeared to have another chance moments later when Willie Isa lost possession under heavy traffic. But FC were penalised for gamesmanship, for patting Isa on the head, and from the subsequent position Wigan edged into control.

Hardaker carved out a half-chance and punted to force a repeat set and, from that position, Burgess swept over from a sweet pass from Oliver Gildart. Hardaker's goal made it 6-2.

And they extended their lead before the break, Hastings and Burgess combining well down the short side and Smith hunting down a kick to ground. Hardaker was again on target.

Smith struck a dropgoal on the hooter but that wasn't the end of the drama, as a skirmish broke out to set the tone for a tasty second-half.

The Warriors maintained the ascendancy, with Hardaker angling onto French's pass for their third try inside five minutes of the restart. His conversion made it 19-2.

It wasn't all one way traffic as French hauled down Sneyd, before Bibby added his side's fourth try to secure the triumph and French added the crowning glory.
