The Warriors haven’t beaten their fiercest rivals under Adrian Lam’s watch, with their last victory in August 2018.

In their favour, they head into the showdown on the back of a 58-12 victory against Salford in their last outing – their biggest win of the season.

And Kiwi veteran Leuluai said: “The consistency and the intensity was good, we were getting off the line well – but we’ll be under a lot more pressure on Friday.

“Saints are a really good team and we’ve not performed against them for a long time so we’re looking to turn that around.”

Bevan French’s electric hat-trick provided many of the talking points after last Friday’s win.

“After the first couple of times he trained with us last year, I just knew he was a special player,” added Leuluai.

“He’s a player who can do things that not many can do. It’s great to watch – even alongside him – and we’re lucky to have him, he’s a good fella.

“Everyone is talking about next year but while we’ve got him, we’re lucky to have him.”

Although pleased with their display against the Red Devils, Leuluai added: “We’ve got to take into account Salford rested a few and had come off a big game, so we’re not going to get carried away.

“But it was the 80 minute performance we were looking for.”
