SHAUN Wane has made changes to Wigan’s previous pre-season schedule and brought forward their training camp in America.
The Warriors will again fly out to Florida to prepare for the new campaign.
But they will go in December and return before Christmas, instead of in January.
And Wane said: “We already know exactly what sessions we’ll be doing on what days, to make sure we get absolute quality out of the sessions on the field.”
Many of his players reported back for “optional” training this week, including new recruits Larne Patrick, Taulima Tautai and Lee Mossop.
All of the non-internationals arrive back for the start of pre-season training next week, but will only have a fortnight in the cold before leaving for warmer climes.
Head of performance Mark Bitcon explained: “Because of the World Cup last year, it dictated what we could do.
“We had to taper back a bit on what we did and it possibly reflected on how we started.
“We want to fly out the blocks next season – and this training camp will reflect that.”
