SHAUN Wane has seen enough of Blake Green in the last few days of training to confidently predict he will be a big hit with Wigan.
The Australian linked-up with his new team-mates for the start of pre-season training this week.
And Wane says the stand-off [right] – recruited from Hull KR to replace Brett Finch – has already impressed.
He said: “Blake’s done very well.
“He’s come in not really knowing anyone, but he’s very confident and he’s fitted in very well.
“He is a quality signing for us and he will definitely fit into our system well.”
Green, who tied the knot during the off-season, was – like all the players – given a training schedule to adhere to during his break.
“He’s come back in great shape,” said Wane.
“He’s obviously at a new club and he wants to make a big impression.
“He did well at the testing, but I have to say that goes for all the lads, too.
“We tested them on Monday, and the results are very good.
“They’ve all come back into it in great shape.
“And I expected that, I would have been angry if they didn’t.”
Green’s former Hull KR team-mate Scott Taylor has not joined training yet, because of his involvement with the England Knights.
His international team-mate Jack Hughes and Wales’ Ben Flower, Rhodri Lloyd and Gil Dudson also have extra time off, while the seven players in the senior England team return ahead of Wigan’s training camp in Florida on December 6.
