CATALANS Dragons have joined the pursuit for prop Gil Dudson – after Hull KR cooled on their interest.

The Robins were leading the chase for Dudson.

But their enthusiasm has receded, leaving a question-mark hanging over the prop’s future.

Catalans have been made aware of developments and may try and lure him to the south of France for 2015. They have had success with their previous British imports, Leon Pryce and Elliott Whitehead.

Huddersfield are thought to remain an option for Dudson, while at least one of the NRL clubs initially interested in him – Newcastle, Parramatta and Canberra – are still keen.

The Welshman fell out of favour during Wigan’s Grand Final charge last year. But his hulking size, and his age – he is 24 – have made him a wanted man.

Warriors have already shed Scott Taylor from their roster and have told under-contract Dudson he is free to leave.

Shaun Wane has a congested front-row department for 2015.

Dom Crosby, Ben Flower, Eddy Pettybourne and Tony Clubb have been joined by Taulima Tautai, Larne Patrick and Lee Mossop.
