DARRELL Goulding may have played his last game for Wigan.
The centre is battling a knee injury, and his chances of appearing for his hometown club again – before he moves to Hull KR – are receding.
Goulding is currently wearing a knee brace to protect the joint.
And coach Shaun Wane reckons it could be another four weeks before he is fit to play – which would take him to the start of the play-offs.
But then, he will face a fresh challenge to earn a place in the team. Dan Sarginson and Anthony Gelling have established themselves in the centre spots in recent weeks.
And with Iain Thornley also inching closer to a return, and Joel Tomkins able to slot into the three-quarters if needed, Goulding may be beaten by the clock.
Wane said: “I would absolutely love to see Daz finish on a high, because he’s given this club great service. But I don’t think it’s going to be that way.”
Goulding, who debuted back in 2005, has figured in 17 games this season.
