WIDNES have joined the hunt for Gil Dudson.
The Welsh prop has attracted a lot of interest since being told he has no future at Wigan.
Although three NRL clubs were keeping tab on him, it’s understood Dudson favours staying in Super League.
Hull kR withdrew their interest a week ago, but Huddersfield and Catalans have him on their radar. And now Widnes have thrown their name into the ring – a move which may suit Dudson, who still lives in the Wigan area.
The 24-year-old is thought to have knocked back an offer from Championship outfit Bradford Bulls.
Dudson fell out of favour during the back end of last season.
And following the recruitment of Taulima Tautai, Larne Patrick and Lee Mossop, both he and Scott Taylor were told they were free to leave.
Taylor has since joined Salford on a year-long loan deal.
Dudson, signed from Crusaders, has returned to pre-season training. But it is unclear whether he will travel with the first-team squad to a Florida training camp tomorrow.
