PARRAMATTA have confirmed they are in talks with Gareth Hock about a switch to the NRL.
But Eels chief executive Ken Edwards insisted a deal has not been struck.
“I can confirm we are in discussions only, at this time,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
Hock was not available for interview at an open England press conference earlier today – which only fuelled the speculation.
The 29-year-old only signed a long-term deal with the Warriors when he returned from a doping ban last year.
And the club may demand a transfer fee from the Eels.
If he departs, he would become the fifth player to leave the club and move to the NRL this season after Thomas Leuluai (NZ Warriors), Brett Finch (Melbourne), Jeff Lima (Souths) and Matt Russell (Gold Coast) – and that number will swell to six if George Carmont decides to shelve his retirement and play on for one more season with the Auckland-based Warriors.
