DARRELL Goulding will miss Wigan’s play-off opener with Huddersfied after receiving his second head injury in a month.
But coach Shaun Wane isn’t worried about cover for the first choice centre as the Warriors face a trip to the league leaders for a place in the Super League semi-finals.
“It would have been nice to have my first choice but it isn’t the way it will be,” said Wane.
“I have a few – Hughes, Gelling, other youngsters – so I’m ok for cover.”
Departing Chris Tuson is named despite struggling earlier in the week with a hamstring problem and the second rower will be looking to impress in case his move to Wakefield falls through following the Wildcats financial troubles.
Despite being given permission to look at other options by the Wildcats, Wane doesn’t think his future lies at the Warriors following the recruitment of Ed Pettybourne and Sam Hopkins.
“(Tuson) has set his heart on leaving now so I think he is chatting to other clubs,” said Wane.
“I could sense things weren’t right at Wakey but I think he’ll be sorted.
“Things have changed from our position, but it’s up to him what he wants to do. I don’t want him to come unstuck.”
