BLAKE Green admits it was a “difficult decision” to quit Wigan at the end of the season to return to the NRL.
But he says the chance to establish himself in Australia too strong to resist – as Shaun Wane threw down the challenge to his youngsters to prove they can fill his boots.
“It was a difficult decision to make,” said Green, who is understood to have agreed a deal with Melbourne.
“My family and I have really enjoyed ourselves and I’ve made some friends for life and some pretty special memories. I was never going to go to another Super League club. It was a bit of a selfish decision, my wife loves living over here, it was about me achieving goals.
“I didn’t want to be 40, sitting at home, watching Friday night footy wishing I had gone back to see if I could mix it with the best.”
