The Warriors’ last win on Leeds’ own patch was a 50-8 hammering in 2012.

Since then, they have lost their last seven matches at the venue. But their record against the Rhinos at other grounds during that time is good, with nine wins from 13 in all competitions - either at the DW or on neutral grounds.

Wane said: “We do okay against them. We play at the Magic Weekend and we beat them, but for some reason we turn up at Headingley and we give them a fair bit of respect.

“And while the respect is always there we need to have an attitude of putting a bit more pressure on them, and that’s what we’ve spoke about. Having purpose, having intent, you need to be on the ball.”

Wane says attempting to break the club’s run does not put any more pressure on this fixture.

“We spoke about how long it is, there’s no point hiding it away,” he said. “If it’s more pressure for the players they shouldn’t be in this room.

“We need to be a lot better, it’s a piece of grass and we need to perform.”

Wane will name a provisional 19-man squad today.

Welsh prop Ben Flowerwill not play after suffering a concussion injury in Saturday’s win at Catalans.

George Williams also left the action early with a migraine but has been cleared to play.

Elsewhere, winger Tom Davies (ankle) is probably another week away, while Wane has yet to decide whether to recall French livewire Morgan Escare.
