A YOUNG Wigan side leaked 32 unanswered points to lose a friendly at Hull KR.

The Warriors had taken a 10-0 lead during a bright opening with young-guns Ryan Hampshire and Dominic Manfredi grabbing tries.

But Hull KR, who started with a near full-strength side, began to take a grip of the contest on the back of an impeccable kicking game, and by half-time had established an 18-10 lead with tries from Lincoln Withers, Greg Eden and Mickey Paea.

The second-half failed to offer any improvements for the die-hards who had travelled to a shivery Craven Park.

Liam Salter went over for a try and winger Omari Caro finished with a double.

Coach Shaun Wane drafted senior players Chris Tuson and Paul Prescott into his squad following their 30-6 loss at Leigh the previous week.

But their presence couldn’t stop Wigan slipping to their second defeat of the pre-season.

Wane said: “I would never use inexperience as an excuse. We did too many things wrong today - I am disappointed with that performance.”
