The 2016 Grand Final was the only silverware of his decade-long career.

And, speaking after fellow-forward Romain Navarrete also committed his future to the club, Isa says it was a simple decision for him to make.

He said: “It was a big decision, because I’m 29, but it was a simple decision, too, because there’s still some hunger for me to win silverware – it came to that.

“I feel this is the best chance to achieve my dreams. I’ve won one Grand Final and it may sound greedy but I want more. We don’t last too long, rugby league players, so if I can take this opportunity with my team-mates, I think anything is possible.

“My mum was a bit disappointed, I think she wanted me home in Australia! It’s a short career and I’ll try and make the most of it.”

Wigan officials are working through their off-contract players.

Having tied down Isa – and given improved deals to wingers Tom Davies and Liam Marshall –they yesterday secured Navarrete on a new three-year contract, with an extra option in the club’s favour.
