SHAUN Wane took his squad to the Lakes yesterday for a team-building session ahead of their Grand Final assault.
The coach arranged a trip to Hawkshead, in the Lake District, for a series of sessions including orienteering.
And he instructed his players to leave their mobile phones – and thoughts of the play-offs – at home as he tries to harness the spirit among the players before their semi-final showdown in seven days’ time.
Wane said: “It’s a chance to spend some time away from rugby and enjoy each other’s company.
“They’ll be doing some acitivies like orienteering and just spending time with each other in a new environment.
“It’s a change of scenery – and a great part of the country.”
The squad return later today and will stage an open training session at 4pm, at their Orrell Edge Hall Road base, which fans are invited to attend.
Meanwhile, Wigan may discover today whether their bid to sign Hull KR prop Scott Taylor (above) has been successful.
Tthe Robins were believed to be pondering a cash offer last night.
Taylor, 21, is wanted by Wane to replace Souths-bound prop Jeff Lima.
