SEAN O’Loughlin is winning his fitness battle to play in his own testimonial game next week.

The Warriors skipper has been in full training for the past few days after completing his recovery from an off-season hip operation.

And he is confident he will be fine to face Huddersfield in six days’ time in a friendly which will serve as a dress-rehearsal of Wigan’s opening game of the Super League season on February 5.

The 29-year-old said: “I’m been running since Christmas and I trained with the lads this week, and it’s all gone well.

“It was great to get back in with them. My recovery has gone really well, it’s feeling good, and as long as there are no setbacks over the next few days I’ll be fine to play.”

O’Loughlin yesterday modelled a special commemorate shirt which has been produced by the Warriors’ kit supplier, ISC, for the clash.

This exclusive design will be worn by the squad against the Giants – and a limited number have also been produced for sale.

The shirt is primarily black and white hoops with a red trim which takes its influence from the shirt from O’Loughlin’s amateur club, Wigan St Patrick’s.

Applicado-FS are the main shirt sponsors on the front with sleeve sponsors Master Lock and Safe and Light Distribution Limited. On the back is the Wigan Youth Zone logo, a charity the England Test ace is supporting throughout his Testimonial.

The loose forward is also supporting two medical causes during his landmark year – Alzheimer’s Society and the Emma Hoolin appeal.

“I am really delighted with how the shirt looks and hope that the supporters will also like this design,” added O’Loughlin, who made his debut in Andy Farrell’s testimonial in 2002.

“I would like to thank ISC for the production of the shirt as well as the all the sponsors who are supporting my testimonial year.

“I’m really looking forward to the game against Huddersfield next week, and the year ahead.”

Replica shirts, all featuring No.13 on the back, went on sale today at Warriors World in the Grand Arcade priced at £47 adults and £35 juniors. Stock is limited to 500 adults and 100 junior sizes.

O’Loughlin will not feature in Wigan’s first pre-season game of the year, at Hull KR this Sunday. Kick-off is 3pm.
