WIGAN hooker Micky McIlorum has been cited for the high tackle which saw him red-carded last Friday night.

He will face the RFL judiciary on Tuesday afternoon on a Grade C charge - which carries a two or three game ban if he is found guilty.

Shaun Wane hopes McIlorum avoids further punishment for his hit on Anthony Laffranchi early into the derby, which Saints won 26-18.

McIlorum has played a vital role in Wigan’s table-topping Super League campaign, and a three-game ban would rule him out of the Grand Final if Wigan were to win their next two matches and take their most direct route to Old Trafford. They face Catalan in their opening play-off game this Friday night.

McIlorum can not enter an early guilty plea because he took advantage of that option earlier this season.
