WIGAN captain Sean O’Loughlin looks set to play in the Grand Final after being named in the squad.
He has been included in Shaun Wane’s 19-man panel and the coach said he is “fit to play” after coming through a training session today.
The 30-year-old will need to clear tomorrow’s final session before getting the green light.
If he does play, it would mark an incredible return for O’Loughlin - who hasn’t played since the Challenge Cup Final in August.
A scan later revealed a tear in his Achilles, but he has worn a special protective boot which was removed on Monday.
O’Loughlin’s likely return would see Ben Flower revert from loose forward to his more accustomed position of prop, and Dom Crosby could miss out.
Head Coach Shaun Wane told us: “Sean has had a good week and it is great news, he is fit to play.”
The Warriors squad for the game is: Josh Charnley, Dom Crosby, Gil Dudson, Liam Farrell, Ben Flower, Anthony Gelling, Darrell Goulding, Blake Green, Harrison Hansen, Jack Hughes, Michael McIlorum, Lee Mossop, Sean O’Loughlin, Pat Richards, Matty Smith, Scott Taylor, Iain Thornley, Logan Tomkins, Sam Tomkins.
Meanwhile, Warrington coach Tony Smith has named an unchanged 19-man squad from last week’s victory over Huddersfield, including his only injury-doubt, Trent Waterhouse.
Full squad: Ryan Atkins, Chris Bridge, Lee Briers, Garreth Carvell, Mike Cooper, Simon Grix, Ben Harrison, Micky Higham, Chris Hill, Brett Hodgson, Joel Monaghan, Michael Monaghan, Adrian Morley, Richie Myler, Stefan Ratchford, Chris Riley, Trent Waterhouse, Ben Westwood,Paul Wood.
