SHAUN Wane has labelled his players as “pumped” as they aim to clear the final hurdle on the road to Old Trafford.
The Warriors face Leeds in a mouth-watering semi-final at the DW Stadium tonight.
And with their Grand Ginal hopes hinging on this 80 minutes tonight, the coach is confident his players will do themselves justice.
He said: “Everyone is pumped, we’re excited, we can’t wait for kick-off.
“As players and coaches, these are the games you want to be involved in.
“The quality of the sessions has been fantastic, the senior players have really led the way – I can’t wait for it to start.”
Meanwhile, Wane last night refused to wade into a war of words with Leeds after Brian McDermott and captain Kevin Sinfield criticised him for calling on the RFL judiciary to suspend Danny McGuire.
The stand-off was subsequently hit with a one-match ban for a high shot against Catalan.
After Sinfield labelled Wane’s remarks in the media before the hearing as “pretty poor”, the coach said he stood by his comments – made in reference to Mike McIlorum’s three-match ban for a similar offence – and said he had “no dramas” with the reaction it provoked from the Rhinos camp.
Kick-off is 8pm and the game is live on Sky Sports.
