The 25-year-old has been in strong form the Championship club.

At present, the Warriors’ interest is only tentative and no deal has been offered.

But Bullock is one player they are monitoring for next season.

He was at Wigan as a junior – when he was an outside back – before moving onto Leigh and then Barrow, where he was shortlisted for League One Player of the Year last term.

Wigan have been working through talks with their off-contract players in recent weeks.

They have not made any new signings for 2019 though it is thought Zak Hardaker will be joining the club when his doping ban expires in November.

Shaun Wane has not been afraid to sign ‘project’ players – only last winter, he brought in South Sydney Under-20s prop Gabe Hamlin on a two-year deal.

Hamlin, meanwhile, has been pleased to see his former Rabbitohs team-mate Jordan Mailata make the headlines after a surprise switch to the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I grew up playing against him from when I was 11 or 12, and he was massive then – we’d have to get five players around him in the tackle to stop him,” smiled Hamlin.

“When he joined Souths it probably took him eight months to get fit. He was just too big.

“We’d put him on for 15 minutes and he was unreal, just so hard to stop, but because of his size he would fatigue.

“It’s a big move, and it’s good to see it’s worked out so far. I messaged him to congratulate him.

“I do watch the NFL, I’m a San Fransisco 49ers fan - my brother, Garrison, is actually named after one of my dad’s favourite 49ers players - but I’ll be watching the Eagles. too, and I hope he goes well.”
