FOUR Wigan Warriors youngsters have been names in the England Academy squad to face the Australian Schoolboys this autumn.

St Pat’s trio Nick Gregson, Oliver Gildart and Jake Shorrocks are joined by Ince Rose Bridge’s Luke Waterworth.

The two-game series kicks-off at Leigh sports Village on December 6, but prior to the England Tests the Australian side will face Wigan’s academy at the Solid Strip Community Stadium, Orrell on November 29, kick-off 12 noon.

Eight Super League clubs are represented in the squad, which features four players from Wigan Warriors, four from Leeds Rhinos, three from Hull FC, three from Warrington Wolves, three from Huddersfield and one apiece from London Broncos, Widnes Vikings and St Helens.

England Academy coach Richard Marshall says some tough decisions were made when agreeing on the final 20 and is pleased to see so many clubs represented in the final squad.

“All coaches involved made the decision on the squad with an eye on the opposition and what we needed to compete against them,” he said.
