Sam Powell has been appointed one of two vice-captains of England Knights' trip to Papua New Guinea.

The second-string national squad is currently in Brisbane, preparing for the two international matches.

Powell and Hull KR's Robbie Mulhern will support skipper Jack Hughes, the Warrington and ex-Warriors forward.

Coach Paul Anderson said: "All three are in for their actions.

"They are good honest hard working players who do the right thing 99 per cent of the time.

"They're all good Super League players with aspirations of being good international players."

Wigan's Tom Davies is also in the squad.
