GEORGE Williams is expecting a feisty atmosphere when Wigan travel to Hull KR a week today in search of Super League’s top spot.
The champions will overtake St Helens at the summit at least until their rivals take on Wakefield 24 hours later.
But Williams isn’t thinking about other results until after his own men have done their job.
“We just have to perform and the scoreboard will look after itself,” he said.
“We need to keep doing what we’re doing to have a good chance to finishing top.”
Warriors will be fresh from having a weekend off while the Challenge Cup semi-finals take place this weekend, but Williams isn’t expecting a repeat of the 84-6 romp for Wigan when they visited Hull KR last season.
“It will be a really tough game – last year was a massive win but they’re going alright,” said Williams.
“We’re going to have to play well. The crowd there is pretty hostile so we’ll have to turn up.”
Hull KR will be looking to make up ground on Widnes as they go in search of the last play-off place available.
