Kayden Boyd, 10, has only been racing his motocross bike for three and a half years, but has managed to bag two major titles as well as an impressive amount of trophies.

The Platt Bridge youngster picked up the championships for Newton-le-Willows Motocross club and the Cheshire MX titles at the end of the season - which finished last month.

In order for the young prodigy to make his way to the nationals, his mum Diane Croston, is hoping to gain sponsorship for her talented son - who has the chance to go all the way in motorsports.

“We are amazed with Kayden,” she said, “When we started out we never thought this would happen. For him to win both of these championships is amazing. He has no fear whatsoever. Sometimes I do worry about him when they go to really really big meetings, it always wrenches my stomach when I see him - but he is very good and it’s what he loves to do.”

“He moved up from the Autos last year from 50cc, we moved him up to the 65cc gear bikes,” she said. “The next step now is the nationals. But when you do big national events it’s so much money. It’s around £200 just to enter them.”

Diane is hoping that a Wigan business would be willing to sponsor Kayden in exchange for advertising at the major national events.

“It’s starting in February so there is still some time yet,” she added. “He is always practising and goes all over Winstanley, Astley and Preston Docks. He really loves it.”
