Wigan schoolboy hopes to launch NBA career through Manchester Magic

The St John Fisher High School pupil is a member of Manchester Magic, he has played for England at under-15 and U16 level and has also played for Great Britain U16s.

“I used to play all kinds of sports and when I was in years four and five, I was one of the smallest in my year group and then I shot up in years six and seven,” he

said.

“My dad and grandad played basketball in America for Montana State so I am following in their footsteps really.

“I started playing around three years ago and I have played for England U15s four times, the U16s three times and represented GB eight times, the latest at the European Championships in Bosnia where we finished seventh.

“I love competing and testing myself against good players – some are even taller than me!”

Manchester Magic are one of the top teams in England and Victor hopes to progress from the U16s to the first team next year.

“My dream is to compete in America in the NBA,” he said.
