The slapstick children's programme introduced the world to Paul and Barry Chuckle and their famous catchphrase: "To me, to you".

Veteran entertainer Barry Chuckle, real name Barry Elliott, died at the age of 73 in August 2018.

In a poll of 3,000 conducted by Radio Times, ChuckleVision was named the greatest CBBC series of all time, followed by The Story Of Tracy Beaker and Dick And Dom In Da Bungalow.

The result comes days after the CBBC rated ChuckleVision "mid" tier in a ranking of its own shows posted to Twitter.

After publishing the list the channel asked: "Did we get it right?"

Paul Chuckle weighed in, replying: "No actually you didn't in my opinion.. Chucklevision 294 episodes over 21 years."

Other shows to make the magazine's top 10 include Horrible Histories, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Blue Peter, Byker Grove, Grange Hill, Maid Marian And Her Merry Men and The Demon Headmaster.

Paul Chuckle told the magazine: "I am thrilled that an injustice has been corrected and I would like to thank everyone over all platforms of social media who got involved.

"In the words of me and Barry (changed a little) 'From me - to you'.

"Thank you as you have all helped put ChuckleVision where it belongs, at number one!"

RadioTimes.com editorial director Tim Glanfield said: "For more than two decades the madcap antics of Paul and Barry served as one of the first introductions to comedy for British children at the heart of the CBBC schedule - no wonder Chucklevision is so well remembered by those who voted in our poll.
