CLASSIC rockers Invisible Ducks hope Wigan music fans will flock to offer their support for the release of its debut album.

The four-piece group has been together as a band for around six years and is in the process of committing to disc the songs for its first full-length release Feathers, Beaks and Rock ‘n’ Roll.

The group, made up of singer Emma Dobinson, guitarist Tony Higham, bassist Sarah Higham and drummer John Baron, is using Pledge Music to raise the £3,000 needed to produce the follow up to EP Broken Hearts Broken Guitars, with fans given the chance to buy exclusive items including t-shirts, custom shoes and signed CDs.

The band describes its music as classic rock, drawing influences from the likes of Bon Jovi and Queen as well as musicians such as former Guns ‘n’ Roses axeman Slash.

Singer Emma, 22, said: “We like to include lots of ‘80s-style guitar solos in our songs and there’s also some heavy rock tracks on our new album.”

Invisible Ducks has been previewing a couple of the new tracks at its recent gigs at T- Festival in Wigan and at the Cherry Gardens, but says some of the songs will be heard for the first time when the album is released.

The group is recording at a converted pub in Ashton-under-Lyne and crowd-funding the release, which enables people to sign up for everything from vinyl copies of the album and customised drum sticks to the Ultimate Quack Pack, which involves the band turning up to play at a venue of the buyer’s choice and delivering goodies by hand.

Emma said: “Everyone who pledges will get a digital copy of the album and behind-the-scenes updates. We will do a couple of videos every week talking about what we’ve been doing and possibly playing liittle snippets of songs.

“We like the fact the fans who come and see us get the chance to get their hands on some unique pieces of merchandise and see what’s going on. Personally I find it quite exciting when bands do that.”

Pledges for Invisible Ducks’ debut album Feathers, Beaks and Rock ‘n’ Roll must be made by November 30 with the digital version of the album being distributed on December 24.
