EVERYBODY needs some decent music to play whilst cooking the Christmas turkey.

And there is no better album to whack on this year than Hugh Laurie’s debut blues album, Let Them Talk (Deluxe Edition).

The album not only showcases Hugh’s musical talents and his love for New Orleans blues music, it’s a whopper of a record with a healthy 19 tracks.

Once passed that initial “Hugh Laurie is singing a blues song” thought, the album is thoroughly entertaining with a range of songs spiced up by guest performers, suitable to play all Christmas.

The opening track of St James’ Infirmary begins with a lengthy intro perfectly showing Hugh’s ability to play the piano and sets the standard for the whole album.

Recorded at sessions in Los Angeles and New Orleans and produced by Joe Henry, Let Them Talk features Hugh’s versions of blues classics with artists such as Greg Allman, Solomon Burke, Robert Plant and John Legend.

The Deluxe Edition also features a special DVD with live footage.
