A TALENTED Wigan singer is set to storm back into the music scene this month with a new album, single and animated music video.

Natasha Lea Jones, who studied Art and Theatre Studies at Wigan and Leigh College, originally found fame with music duo Pooka in the 1990s and was signed by major record labels including Warner Brothers and Island Records.

Not only this but she worked with top names including Orbital, Everything But the Girl, The Levellers and Divine Comedy.

Now Natasha, who hails from Hindley, is back with a single and music video, Come to Call from the new album Soar.

The project, which has taken four years to come to fruition has been a labour of love for Natasha, who wanted to produce something completely unique.

She said: “I have worked in the music industry for a long time but I have never embarked on such an exciting project before.

“The internet and social media channels, such as Facebook, have made it possible for me to work independently with some very talented people around the world - that would have not been possible 10 years ago.

“I made the initial approaches via Facebook and eventually met people in person.

“Once everything was agreed all of the work was done virtually, talking on Skype and sending files via the internet.

“I’m so excited to see it all come together at long last.

“I feel like I’ve come a long way since singing in front of my family in Wigan.

“Now that the hard work is done I hope that people across the world will watch, listen and enjoy!”

The single also features singer Graham Bonnet of the band Rainbow, who is based in Hollywood, and guitar player Ricardo Costa from Italy, son of Alberto Costa of the Darwen based band The Beethovens.

And the animated music video was written and directed by up and coming Egyptian film-maker, Alzamkhshary Awad who is hoping that his work will reach a global audience.
