Swashbuckling family favourite Muppet Treasure Island comes to the big screen in Leigh with special live pre-show
Leigh Film Factory is inviting audiences of all ages to set sail for adventure with a special screening of Muppet Treasure Island on Saturday April 4 at 2pm - complete with a unique live performance celebrating the magic of Jim Henson.
Before the film, audiences will be treated to The Puppet Folk Experience, a live tribute to the music and creative spirit of Jim Henson and the Muppets. Combining acoustic performances with expertly crafted puppet replicas, musician Andy and puppeteer Liam bring beloved songs and characters to life in a show that is as joyful as it is heartfelt.
Designed to delight both lifelong fans and newcomers, the performance captures the humour, warmth, and imagination that made the Muppets a cultural phenomenon.
Following the live pre-show, audiences can enjoy Muppet Treasure Island on the big screen—a fast-paced, family-friendly adventure packed with songs, laughs, and unforgettable characters, as Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the gang take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale.
This special event offers more than just a film screening, creating a shared, feel-good experience that blends live performance with cinematic nostalgia.
A spokesperson for Leigh Film Factory said:
“We’re always looking for ways to make our screenings feel like a real event, and this is something really special. The Puppet Folk Experience perfectly captures the spirit of the Muppets—funny, creative, and full of heart. It’s going to be a brilliant afternoon for families and anyone who grew up loving these characters.”
The event is the second time the Puppet Folk Experience have visited Leigh Film Factory, after two sold out screenings of 'The Muppet Christmas Carol' in December 2025.
