Taekwondo athlete Bianca Cook cut the ribbon with pupils from Nicol Mere Primary School to officially open the store on Wigan Road in Ashton.
It replaces the former Aldi on Princess Road.
The new supermarket is also calling on local charities and food banks in Ashton to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to local charitable organisations.
