Local Ex-Wigan footballer launches Stride Electrolytes

A former professional footballer from Wigan is bringing elite-level hydration to everyday athletes with the launch of Stride Electrolytes.
Founder Tom Powell spent years playing professional football alongside players such as Jarrod Bowen, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Callum Lang, where hydration and recovery were treated as non-negotiable parts of performance.
“Hydration was taken seriously at the professional level, but I noticed a real gap in the market for something clean, effective and easy to understand for everyday gym-goers,” Powell said. “That’s why I started Stride.”
Launched in January 2026, Stride Electrolytes focuses on replacing key minerals lost through sweat, sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium, alongside Vitamin C and B12 to support performance, recovery and energy.

Unlike many products on the market, Stride contains no added sugar, preservatives or artificial colours, with just 7 calories per serving.
The range is currently available in three flavours:
🍉 Watermelon
🫐 Mixed Berry
🍋 Pink Lemonade
Every customer placing their first order also receives a free 600ml shaker.
Powell says community has been central to the brand’s early growth, with Stride working closely with local gyms and running clubs to gather feedback and build grassroots partnerships.
“I wanted to create something honest and effective, professional-grade hydration without the hype,” he said.
