Makerfield Veterans Celebrate Christmas

Local armed services personnel were invited to St Matthew's Parish Hall in Highfield for a Christmas gathering and thank-you party.

The annual event was attended by Makerfield MP Josh Simons, former MPs Yvonne Fovargue and Neil Turner, Wigan RL legend Billy Boston and many of Makerfield's ward councillors. The veterans were entertained by local singer John Burrows and enjoyed a three-course meal and a little pre-Christmas tipple.
