Pupils from Platt Bridge Community School ran and cycled on static bikes, joined by a team from Voca Fire Protection in Ashton.
They were supporting the 10 members of Team Voca taking on a 550-mile non-stop relay run from Wigan to Paris to raise money for Wigan Youth Zone and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Each runner will also act as a support cyclist for a team mate, with roles rotating throughout the journey.
The team will leave The Brick Community Stadium on Wednesday and expect to arrive at Stade Jean Bouin, Paris, on Saturday for the Wigan Warriors v Catalans Dragons rugby match.
