Wigan school pupils get excited about numbers as they perform poems and raps

School pupils were joined by a special guest as they took to the stage to perform their own number-themed poems and raps.

Poetry slam champion Harry Baker visited Parbold Douglas CE Primary School to witness the creative prowess of the children.

The event was hosted by the charity National Numeracy and Maths Circle to encourage children to think positively about numbers.

It follows new research which shows Wigan needs a high level of numeracy provision and ahead of National Numeracy Day on May 22.
