Men flocked to St Peter’s Pavilion, in Hindley, to ask questions and receive information about a range of health-related matters.
There were guest speakers and health professionals, information stands, blood pressure checks, sexual health consultations and lots of useful advice.
Among the many organisations represented were Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance, ManBassadors, Be Well, We Are With You, Diabetes UK, Andy’s Man Club and the Armed Forces HQ.
There was information about how to stop smoking, bowel cancer screening, physiotherapy, being physically active and mental health.
The event was organised by Hindley Primary Care Network, which had sent questionnaires to all registered male adult patients to understand what they would most like to see included.
Vicky Edwards, operations manager for Hindley Primary Care Network, said: “The event was a great success and created a welcoming space for men to engage with all services and learn more about looking after their health. We had lots of males coming through the doors to gain advice, support and have those open conversations with professionals.
"It was also a great opportunity for all organisations to be in the same room with a shared goal, to network and engage with each other so that we can move forward together for our community, and take positive steps for their health and well-being.”
