Find out how many people have received a Covid vaccine in Greater Manchester

New data published on Thursday showed how the city-region and the North West as a whole is faring in the jabs roll-out.

NHS England statistics showed that as of January 31 a total of 429,181 people had received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine in Greater Manchester.

Of those, 102,226 were aged 80 or over.

That means that as of January 31 Greater Manchester had given a first dose to 86.5 per cent of its over-80s.

Separate data showed how many people had received both doses of a vaccine in Greater Manchester.

As of January 31 there were 23,691 people who had been given two jabs across the city-region.

That included 15,118 over-80s, or 12.6 per cent of the population in that age group.

That means that the vast majority of over-80s, one of the highest-priority groups in the vaccine roll-out, have now been at least partly vaccinated against Covid-19.

Regional data showed that as of January 31 the North West was second for the total number of vaccines given and third-highest for getting jabs to the over-80s.

Across the region as a whole more than 1.1m have had a first dose, including 307,657 over-80s.

And more than 65,000 people, including 43,497 over-80s, have had two jabs.

Residents will be contacted when it is time for them to make an appointment to receive a Covid-19 vaccine.
