Responding to a request from local charity, The Brick, the hotel has now provided 25 rooms for homeless people to support them throughout this crisis.

Nick Jackman, General Manager, Mercure Wigan, said: “We are proud to be able to support our local community by providing accommodation for those without anywhere else to stay.

By working with The Brick, we hope to offer some protection and security to some of the most vulnerable people in society who do not have a home to stay in.

Our hotel is in a unique position to be able to support those most at risk and we are grateful to be able to do so.”
