Hide AdJason Carr, the trust's car parking and security manager, said: "We wish we could do more and we're thankful for everyone's co-operation and patience during this time, but unfortunately we do have to reinstate parking charges for patients and visitors across all of WWL.

"Due to ongoing building work in response to the pandemic at our Royal Albert Edward Infirmary site, there is still limited parking so we would urge those attending for appointments to allow time to find suitable parking."
The hospitals' car parks use a pay-and-display system and it costs up to £6.50 for motorists parking for more than four hours.
