The Shevington High School Under 13's football team with trophies in April 1980.
They had won the Lancashire Evening Post Trophy as champions of the Wigan Metro Schools League, the schools 5-a-side final and shared the Lythgoe Knock-Out Cup with St. Thomas More RC High School.
A family from Skelmersdale with one the best decorated boat prizes for their craft, the Tudor Rose, at the Appley Bridge Boat Rally on Saturday 5th of April 1980.
The boat rally was a popular event for many years and organised by the Douglas Valley Cruising Club over the Easter weekend.
